They offer 2 crafts per event so that they can accommodate more people.
This event is open to everyone....so if you have a friend that is interested, please invite them as well!
February Monthly Giving Project - The WOM Monthly Giving Project for February is Healthy Snacks - dried fruit, nuts, individual cups or pouches of fruit/sauce, granola bars. Please leave in the donation basket in the narthex. These will be given to Kindred Elementary.
In addition, we are also doing a Hotel toiletries collection: Norman’s WOM is collecting hotel toiletries for creating care packages to be given to those in shelters and other ministries in the area. In your travels, please take the toiletries provided in hotel rooms (they are discarded by the hotel staff even if you don’t use them!) and bring them to church. Any questions? Ask Diane Kjelstrup or Pastor Laura.
At the February Church Council meeting, the council held a brainstorm session to come up with priorities for the year for our congregation and church. Out of this session came two key priorities we would love the entire congregation to play a part in! If you have any ideas or input to share in either or both of these areas, please reach out to any of the named group members below!
1. Fellowship and Activities: With our construction now complete and a beautiful facility to use, we thought a great priority to focus on this year would be to increase fellowship opportunities in our church and really put it to use. Some ideas included planning more special events, finding fun and spiritual activities that can bring our members and their families closer together, and creating/cultivating a sense of community and hospitality. Have specific ideas or examples to increase our fellowship and fun?! Share them with Stacy Swenson, Diane Kjelstrup, or Andy Westby!
2. WOW Worship: How can we make our already great worship services make people say WOW?! We have such great talents and surroundings to enhance our services, so why don't we use them more! Ideas included things such as more outdoor services in the summer and incorporating more music, choir, bands, etc. into our services. Have ideas that would make us all say WOW?! Share them with Dawn Thompson, Erik Thoen, or Jess Wieser!
Pastor Laura will be out of town after worship on Sunday, February 5 through Tuesday, February 7 for a conference. Pastor Sonja Kjar will be on-call in case of emergencies (email@example.com, 701.371.3399).
Giving Hearts Day takes place on Thursday, February 9 and the Eastern North Dakota Synod is excited to participate again! he synod has set a bold goal of raising $50,000 in one day! The dollars raised will be used to creatively respond to timely, important ministry beyond the synod's mission plan, and all donations of $10 or more will be matched, up to $12,000. In order to meet this BOLD goal, the EaND Synod is asking for your help! Please see your bulletin insert for more information.
