Family Sunday School - November

Family Sunday will be held November 2 at 9:45 am at Davenport Church. Special guest speakers will be Heidi Odegaard on Project Give 5 and Joyce Transgrud on Africa. This will be a powerful presentation and we encourage all congregation members from Norman and Davenport to join the Sunday School in this special Family Sunday.

Parish Youth Meatball Dinner

The Norman-Davenport parish youth group will be holding their annual meatball dinner on Sunday, October 26 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm at Davenport Lutheran. The menu will consist of meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, buns, dessert and beverage. Free will offering. Hope to see you all there!

New Member Sunday

Sunday, October 19 will be New Member Sunday at Norman. A potluck dinner will be held following the service. The working group for the dinner will be Group 3.

Norman Cemetery Memorialization

The original cemetery of the Norman Lutheran Church is one of the oldest cemeteries in North Dakota. The earliest burial recorded in this cemetery was June 11, 1876. The unveiling of a plaque and a brief memorialization ceremony will take place on October 12 following the 11:00 am service at Norman.

Directions to the cemetery are as follows: go 1-1/2 miles east of the Norman Church, then 1 mile south, then 1/2 mile west, then about 1/2 mile north to the site. The site is on the east side of Jason Solhjem's driveway.

Norman Women's Group

There is a new birth to celebrate....a NEW Women's Group at Norman. In honor of this new beginning, we will be hosting a baby shower. Donations will be given to the YWCA Women's Shelter. Suggestions include: diapers, wipes, clothes, ointments, toys, bottles, and any baby supplies.

This new group will kick-off on Sunday, October 12 with a meeting at 9:30 followed by the service at 11:00.

Confirmation for 8th and 9th graders will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 8, and 22 from 11:40 am to 12:20 pm at the high school.

There will be no confirmation on October 15 or 29.
